I used to tell people incessantly that i was a bag person and that shoes didn't really do it for me. but that was when all i knew of was strappy jimmy choos and boring black pointed pumps. before i discovered louboutin and balenciaga, before i discovered the ultra-female who can wear shoes like these...ladies like clemence poesy, emmanuelle alt, and mk olsen.

the sartorialist v. the facehunter

  

i love that both the sartorialist and the facehunter found this girl on the same day and took her picture. she must have felt like a celebrity!  I think this says a lot about the two aesthetics of the guys, the facehunters younger more intimate thing that he's got going on, and scott's formality and elegance and utter chicness.

i love them both, and it helps that this girl is dressed to the nines!

movin movin movin

all of a sudden, with the mark of september on the calendar, my internal clock won't let me sleep past 9am. which is still majorly sleeping in to some of you, but absolutely not to me. i guess it's a good thing, since i can get so much more done at the end of the day, but i still am unsure of just exactly how well rested i could get with this new chop-off-6-of-the-hours-that-i-usually-get thing.

the fog

i'm really excited for fall. neon rain coats. sneakers that are actually a necessity to keep rain from getting on my toes. pea coats and chai tea. studying and learning and reading. furnishing my apartment. ha, well, dorm.

alright, the fair is great, i've decided.

there was lots of sisterly bonding time, some funnel cake, cows a-plenty, and country music!

everything it should be and more, is what i mean to say.

okay so i'm stuck in wisconsin and scott schuman provides a GREAT escape from the daily middle american grind. i went to the fair today and looked so hard to find people who would catch scott schuman's eye and felt like i was coming up short, so i went and spent a while on thesartorialist and compiled the images that make my currently fashionably-woed heart sing.

layering.

okay so i'm not even sure if i would have noticed this on the street, but scott schuman has an eye...it's undeniable. the layering skills that this girl has are impeccable. i love how delicate the fabrics are and yet how the look is sturdy. i'm going to seriously have to look into figuring out how to be better at layering--i always feel like it's too much of a hassle. I like it when i can just put something on and have it look good. but looking at this it's so obvious that with the right tricks it can bring an outfit to a whole new level.

wisconsin!

 

 

hmm so yes. now im in wisconsin! helping family househunt. i wont be living here...im not sure i could if i was forced to (no offense wisconsonians)..but its nice for a little mini-vacation.

notice anything unusual on that menu? um, yeah.

but this was my travel outfit, and thats mysister.

we're going to the state fair tomorrow! i'm extremely excited.

i dont really know what this day was about. the gingham dress proved to be entirely comfortable and handy though, i have to say. one of my best friends was leaving for college and so i visited her and was so starving by the time that i left her house that J, J, A and i went to get burritos and carne asada fries at the best mexican place around. the camera came out, and the rest was history.

oh, and that bruise on J's leg? its from a soccer ball! who says fashionistas cant play rough?
