I love this.

Iekeliene Stange, in all her hipster and eclectic (and far more fashionable than Agyness, by the way), was randomly photographed with a big bubble floating in front of her face and a perfect hipster headband--how appropriate.  This picture reminds me, even though Iek isn't being particularly silly, of those fun nights with the people you love.  And the bubble just makes it.

I miss blowing bubbles, maybe tomorrow I'll buy some and wear a hipster headband too!

Welcome to the Jungle

Please forgive the fact that I am obsessed with this skirt right now.  In a way, I'm kind of proud that I can wear something with so many different looks--it was definitely worth my hard-earned cash. Anyway. This was the gist of what I wore to a little dance-dance sway-sway house party, except minus the boots, because there was an Astro Jump, and there was no way I was going to be missing out on that.

Spotlight On...Mélanie Laurent

Mélanie is a young Parisienne actress who has got an eye for style. She's been inspiring me recently, 

I especially dig the Chloé dress worn in such a chic way--the aviators help to make it so much less 

stuffy and really young and hip. She has starred in movies alongside Gaspard Ulliel (swooooon!) and

her films include Le dernier jour and Embrassez qui vous voudrez. As luck would have it, I haven't

gotten around to seeing any of her acting so far, but I have seen some youtube things and I think she's

great. Her look reminds me a little bit of Jenny on Gossip Girl (facewise, not stylewise) but there's just

something about her that is so ...French! I guess as an American I just envy that je ne sais quoi.

Grey Area

I found this top in my closet today, wedged between a pair of jeans and a random hanes tee (yes, my closet really is that disorganized), and I really don't remember ever purchasing it.  Regardless, I immediately was inspired with this new piece of clothing, because it's been so long since I last bought something that's unusual and special and just, easy to wear.  So I decided to stick with the white/light/pale color palette and throw on this vest (which has a surprise back) and my greay jeans, which didn't fit for a while, and now they do (hurrah!)

A New Light

I've been going crazy with extracurriculars recently and have therefore had little to no natural light left when I get home.  Tonight I managed to get home in time, but just barely. Anyway...

Outfit Number 1: Safari Chic.

Kids say the darndest things.  I walked into my house and my sister let me know that I looked like I was in Africa.  I, however, didn't take that offensively in the slightest. With the new safari look making its way back onto the runways, I was practically elated!  I made sure to wear my Africa earrings to complement the rest of the ensemble.

Outfit #2: AA madness.

I don't know why I've decided to name my outfits today, I think i'm just in a silly state.  Anyway, I'm sure you all recognize this AA dress--I've barely worn it because it's been too cold, but today was nice...at least for a while.  I guess it makes sense that everything gets waaaay chillier when the sun starts to set, even in southern california.

Shoe Me

From Top to Bottom, Left to Right.

1.Dsquared. Somehow Iekeliene (model hero) ran down the runway in these to open the show. However, it was all downhill from there. Shoes were flying off girls feet (literally, watch the video...) and when the boys came out to take their bow, the held shoes in their hand.  I know you may think I'm crazy, and I know that if I were to actually wear these I could very possibly break my ankle, but that doesn't mean I don't love them to the point of insanity.

2. Viktor and Rolf.  Another pair of shoes that would probably be extremely problematic in my case.  I just envision my feet looking like sausages in these, and also, I think if they hurt At All, the amount of rubbing that would be going on is sort of unlimited. However, once again, I want em.

3. Giambattista Valli. These are just hot, and MK olsen wore a pair a few months ago that were very similar and she pulled them off!  I just like the way they look and I know that they could make the most drab outfit fabulous.

4. Alexander McQueen. These are the perfect boots. I love the way it's folded over and I love the sleekness, there's no need to take the shoes too far when you're alexander mcQueen anyway, you can do whatever the heck you want!

5. Peter Som.  I am absolutely getting redundant about my fantasy shoes, because EVERY single one of these would be a dream to have.  At this point, if you are still reading, then you are one of those people who just understand the insatiable lust that comes with these exquisite pieces of art.

6. Prada. Note, the tan band around the foot is just there to hold the shoe on the girls foot so that Dsquared's shoe incident doesn't repeat history at Prada.  I love the browns and tans and think they're very elegant and very miuccia.

7. Stella McCartney.  The lucite in between the top bit and the bottom bit of the shoe is what makes this for me.  I don't know if I could pull these off personally.  I may, however, make a shrine to them in my closet..!

New Trend. Cutouts?

From Stella McCartney, to Valentino, to Chanel, to Miu Miu...cutouts have been flying down the runway. I suppose it's more of an outfit with a layer of cutouted-ness layered on top, but Stella McCartney managed to make an entire dress without revealing too much.  Rather, it's a dress I would kill to get my hands on it!

Has anyone else noticed this?

Fashion Week

Several Highlights for me:

1. Sonia Rykiel--Always a blast, always gets the girls smiling--and interestingly enough the clothes are just as incredible and very french and chic.  Looking at the pictures of this show, watching Irina L. walking down the runway tossing a bowler hat in the air and seeing usually stone-faced Karlie Kloss flash her pearly whites, I know that this designer has got it going on.

2. The details at Alexander McQueen were so exquisite and...completely NOT ready-to-wear.  However, I just think with all the stark blacks and greys that Paris Fashion Week has presented us with, this bit of McQueen-like indulgence was much needed for the week to have that flavor and spice that is always expected of it.

3. Cory Kennedy in the front row at a couple of shows really just impresses me, and even though I'm not particularly obsessed or loathing of her, I just like that these big time fashion houses have a sense of humor. 

4. Lily Donaldson's crown at Sonia Rykiel is a headpiece that I would die for! What I like about it is that it's like a simple headband, but with a crown design at the front--a perfect hipster headband.

5. The Olsens return to Paris. My dream. And they pulled it together and looked great, too!  Really, not a lot is necessary for this one.

Good Morning, Angels

I know, so sophisticated right?

I like that I went out in ultimate comfort today, actually! I just ran a bunch of errands, got up early, and decided to stick to the basics. I did end up getting a really adorable new bathing suit and a couple of pairs of flips flops--clearly I'm prepared for summer already.

However, with the rest of my day I have to figure out which movies to watch from the staggering pile I have waiting for me that I got from blockbuster. Here's what I have:

The past few days have been so much more about comfort than about anything superfabulous.  However, sometimes that in itself can end up being superfabulous. I've been running around, a little tazmanian devil, and now it's friday and I have a moment to breathe. I went to Blockbuster and rented an obscene number of movies, (which I will be posting about later, of course!) and prepared myself for a weekend in.  Everyone needs that sometimes, you know?

The New Motif

So everyone, it's official--the star motif will probably become as ubiquitous as that Balenciaga equestrian-esque hat that was so popular a few seasons back (and practically drove me mad!).

Across fashion capitals, the star-print has been showing up on tons of runways.  This decidedly Americana symbol is something that I've avoided since the last fourth of July parade I was in in the 4th grade.

I'm thinking if I can find a cheaper (read: urban outfitters) version of these stars that maybe I could make them work, especially if they were white on black--however, the ethereal, wispy version marion cotillard is wearing in the top right is also a dream.

This dress that I came across on ebay could be really cute (minus the guitar necklace..) with some boots and a belt.
